CIMCO has introduced Simulate Active Selection in CIMCO Edit 2026, enabling selected NC code to be instantly backplotted and simulated for easier inspection and editing of specific sections of large NC programs.
Users can select a section of NC code to inspect, after which the Backplot and Solid Simulation views automatically update to display the corresponding part of the toolpath. As the selection changes, the simulation updates live, keeping the selected code and visible toolpath connected throughout the editing process.
Inspect exactly what you need
Simulate Active Selection makes it easy to isolate specific sections of a program and see exactly which toolpath moves they contain.
Select a point directly in the toolpath to jump to the corresponding NC line, then expand the selection in the editor to include the moves you want to review. The Backplot and Solid Simulation views update continuously as the selection changes.
This makes it easy to:
Inspect individual toolpath sections
Identify the NC code behind specific moves
Isolate moves before making changes
Select code precisely for editing or removal
More precise NC program editing
Simulate Active Selection also makes targeted edits much more straightforward.
When removing or modifying part of a toolpath, you can adjust the NC code selection while immediately seeing the corresponding result in the backplot and stock simulation. Once the visible section matches what you want to change, the selected lines can be edited or deleted directly.
By keeping code and simulation synchronized, the feature provides a clear and efficient way to make precise changes to NC programs.
