Investment is increasing. Exports are growing. New sectors such as aerospace, defence, electronics, medical devices, renewable energy and advanced automotive are creating new requirements. But these sectors will also demand a different level of capability.”
He further added, “So, my message to our members today is simple. Let us not look at growth only as an increase in orders. Let us look at growth as an opportunity to upgrade our businesses. Invest in technology. Develop people. Improve processes. Build engineering capability. Understand your customers better. Look beyond India. And most importantly, work together as an industry.”
Mr. Shanmugasundaram, said, “TAGMA’s AGM is an opportunity not only to look at the past year but also to discuss where the industry is heading and how we can prepare for the next phase of growth. We plan to take members on business and educational delegations to different countries, giving them exposure to international manufacturing practices, toolrooms, factories, educational institutions, customers and technology companies. This will help Indian toolmakers benchmark themselves, identify areas for improvement and explore international markets.”
He further expressed that, “Our next major platform is the 10th edition of International Tooling Summit 2026, to be held on 17–18 November at The Leela Ambience, Gurugram. I encourage members to participate actively. We are also looking ahead to Die & Mould India 2028, with the objective of making it bigger, better and more international, while strengthening it as a business platform connecting toolmakers, customers, international companies and technology providers.”
The new Council begins its three-year term at a time when the Indian tooling industry is seeing opportunities arising from the adoption of new technologies, growing export demand and the continued focus on strengthening manufacturing in India. During the new term, TAGMA will continue to work towards strengthening the tooling industry, bringing its members closer together and giving the industry a stronger voice in India and international markets.
The new leadership will focus on taking forward TAGMA’s plans and initiatives while working with its members and stakeholders to address the opportunities and evolving requirements of the Indian tooling industry.
TAGMA also expressed its appreciation to the outgoing Executive Council for its time, efforts and dedication to the association during its term. The association congratulated Mr. Sheregar, Mr. Shanmugasundaram and all members of the newly elected Executive Council and wished them success as they take TAGMA forward over the next three years.
