BIG DAISHOWA has introduced the TAG90 center-through-coolant angle head and AG35 high-pressure coolant adapters to its fixed 90-degree angle head range. These new additions offer improved chip evacuation and cooling performance, enhancing productivity, precision, and machining flexibility.

Designed to deliver coolant directly from the machine spindle to the cutting edge—bypassing the stop block—the TAG90 ensures more efficient cooling and chip removal. The system supports coolant pressures up to 1,000 PSI, making it ideal for demanding machining environments.

Toolholders can choose between two types of angle heads: the Build-Up type, which offers interchangeable adapters for various machining tasks, and the HMC type, a high-rigidity milling chuck. The Build-Up type is compatible with AG35 high-pressure coolant adapters, including New Baby Chuck and Side Lock variants.

BIG DAISHOWA’s angle head solutions enable the combination of vertical and horizontal operations on a single machine, allowing access to hard-to-reach features without additional setups. This reduces cycle times, enhances accuracy, and eliminates errors associated with multiple setups.

“In industries like aerospace, defense and automotive, manufacturers are looking for ways to machine larger, more complex workpieces in fewer setups,” says Alan Miller, senior manager engineering. “At the same time, chip evacuation is a concern, especially with the hard-to-machine materials common in these industries. Our new TAG90 angle heads support both needs by bringing productivity and accuracy to a new level.”
