Bharat Mandapam (Pragati Maidan) hosts 225 leading regional machine tool players

The Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (IMTMA) on 9th May inaugurated the northern region’s premier manufacturing technology event , the 5th Delhi Machine Tool & Manufacturing Technology Expo (DMTX) and the 2nd Factory Equipment Expo (FACTEQ), at Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan.
DMTX serves as a specialized platform for showcasing cutting-edge advancements in metalworking machinery, including tools, accessories, and components. In its second edition, FACTEQ complements the expo by presenting a range of factory-focused solutions, encompassing material handling, logistics, and automation technologies.
A new publication from IMTMA titled ‘Reference Book for Indian Machine Tool Industry’ was released at the inauguration.
Mr Vijay Mittal, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI), Government of India, and Mr Premjit Lal, Executive Director, ITPO, inaugurated the exhibition.
Mr Rajendra S. Rajamane, President, IMTMA and Mr Jibak Dasgupta, Director General & CEO, IMTMA, shared the dais at the inauguration.

During the inaugural address, Mr Mittal said, Delhi Machine Tool Expo provides adequate representation to the manufacturers of Northern India and also creates an interactive platform to generate business and innovative ideas together to achieve the collective targets, which the government has set to make Vikisit Bharat by 2047.
Mr Mittal further added, “There has been a growth of 3X over a decade. We are contributing to a good growth to the manufacturing sector. Capital goods sector has to focus more on R&D. We are looking for niche technologies that can take manufacturing to high standards.”
The inaugural speech also added Mr Rajamane insights, he said, “In terms of global positioning of machine tool industry, India ranks 9th in production and 6thin consumption. The consumption has increased by 17%. IMTMA and Ministry of Heavy Industries have been collaborating on several fronts.”
While, Mr Lal emphasized that India is at the inflection of becoming third largest economy in the next few years.
“We have a good ecosystem of manufacturers and innovators. With the help of R&D institutes, we are leveraging this strength. We have achieved a lot of success in manufacturing sector, specially in the electronics sector and we want to replicate this in the machine tools,” Mr Lal further added.
DMTX 2025 and FACTEQ 2025, will conclude on 12 May 2025 offering a great chance for industries in the northern region to see the latest technologies and connect with others. IMTMA expects a good number of visitors at the expo.
