With the new InsertKey Z088/…, HASCO introduces a solution for the clear and unambiguous coding of mould inserts in injection moulding tools. The system—comprising sleeve Z0881/… and bush Z0882/…—ensures accurate positioning and assembly of inserts, eliminating the risk of mix-ups. This contributes to improved process reliability, greater efficiency, and enhanced standardisation in mouldmaking.
The use of the InsertKey allows for the identical production of mould inserts, making work preparation, spare parts storage, and maintenance significantly more efficient. Coding is achieved through specific rotation within the installation space, meaning that—depending on the application—only one code is needed in the mould frame plate for each insert. Once the InsertKey is installed, the insert is automatically positioned, effectively eliminating errors caused by mixing up mould inserts.
The scalability of the coding system expands its range of applications: by using two InsertKey units, each with eight possible positions, up to 64 unique combinations (8²) can be generated. This allows the system to adapt flexibly to various cavity counts and mould concepts. Despite its versatility, the InsertKey requires minimal space—it has no protruding parts and does not increase the mould’s size, making it easy to integrate into compact installation spaces.
With the new InsertKey, HASCO is consistently extending its portfolio of practice-oriented standard mould units for modern mouldmaking. The system offers clear benefits in standardisation and process control and is a further part of the company’s claim to continuously improve efficiency and reliability in the injection moulding process through innovative solutions.
