The Indian Machine Tool Manufacturers’ Association (IMTMA) convened its 79th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 10th September 2025 at the Bangalore International Exhibition Centre (BIEC), Bengaluru. The gathering brought together industry leaders, experts, and stakeholders from across the machine tool and manufacturing sectors to discuss emerging opportunities, address challenges, and shape the roadmap for the future of Indian manufacturing.

At the AGM, Mohini Kelkar, Director, Business Development, Grind Master Machines Pvt. Ltd., was elected as President of IMTMA for the year 2025–2026, while Vikram Salunkhe, Managing Director, Accurate Engineering Company Pvt. Ltd., was elected as Vice President for the same term. The new Executive Committee of IMTMA for 2025–2026 was also formed during the meeting.

Expert Insights at the AGM

The 79th AGM also served as a platform for expert insights and thought leadership sessions, bringing together eminent speakers who addressed critical topics shaping the future of manufacturing, business, and technology.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Ajit Ranade, Senior Fellow & Trustee at the Pune International Centre, on ‘Indian Economy, Growth in the Manufacturing Sector, and the Likely Scenario for the Future’. A renowned economist and academic leader, Dr. Ranade has over 35 years of experience spanning academia, research, and corporate leadership, including significant roles at the Aditya Birla Group, RBI committees, and global universities. He offered valuable perspectives on India’s evolving economic landscape.

In a session focused on practical insights for overcoming operational constraints and enhancing supply chain performance, the expertise of Mr. Raghu Venkataraman, Principal Consultant at Goldratt Consulting, stood out. A seasoned transformation expert with more than 17 years of experience in addressing complex, long-standing industry challenges, he shared his perspectives on ‘Breaking Supply Chain Bottlenecks’.

Mr. Amit Pande, Co-Founder of TOTELY, spoke on ‘AI Agents to Automate Business Workflow’ highlighting how AI-driven automation is transforming industries by streamlining operations, increasing efficiency, and driving profitability.

The AGM reaffirmed IMTMA’s role as a key platform for industry collaboration, leadership, and knowledge-sharing in the Indian machine tool and manufacturing ecosystem.

With the election of new leadership, the formation of the 2025–2026 Executive Committee, and impactful sessions from thought leaders, the 79th AGM of IMTMA highlighted its continued commitment to driving innovation, sustainability, and growth in the Indian machine tool industry.
