Cyber security expert Götz Schartner, founder and CEO of 8com GmbH and Co. KG, one of Germany’s leading providers of SOC as a service and managed security services, will be joined by other colleagues from his company to recreate their Security Operations Center at the upcoming HANNOVER MESSE. In this way, visitors to the trade fair will be able to experience cyber security live.
In his opinion, cyber crime has developed into a highly efficient industry. Cyber crime as a service makes attacks scalable, cheap, and accessible to almost everyone. Entirely ready-made attack chains, blackmail infrastructure, and automated tools are freely available. The boundaries between criminal groups and state-controlled actors are becoming increasingly blurred. Artificial intelligence (AI) takes attacks and defense to a new level: AI will become the dominant technology in attack and defense in 2026. Attackers will use AI to automate phishing, social engineering, vulnerability analysis, and entire attack campaigns. AI will also play a central role in defense in the future – whether for detecting anomalies and attack patterns, performing alarm triage, or incident response. Götz Schartner summarizes the situation as follows: Cyber security is no longer a bolt-on task – it is a basic requirement for stability and the future. Companies that understand risks, take control of processes, and realistically align their security strategy will fare better in 2026 than those that continue to simply react to incidents.
Secomea, a wholly owned subsidiary of McNaughton-McKay Electric USA, will present a secure, zero-trust-based remote access solution for industrial environments at HANNOVER MESSE 2026. The solution, which has been specially designed for OT, enables engineering companies to control remote access to machines and production facilities securely – with full transparency and monitoring. Secomea ensures secure cooperation with external service providers, protects critical industrial systems and networks, and helps organizations to meet industrial cyber security and compliance requirements such as IEC 62443 and NIS2 – all without disrupting operations or adding complexity.
Another exhibitor will be the DSN GROUP. At HANNOVER MESSE 2026, they will be focusing on keeping industrial companies secure in terms of their organization and processes. As a specialist consultant for information security, the Group shows how companies can permanently anchor security with structured information security management systems (ISMS) in accordance with ISO/IEC 27001 and industry-specific standards – an aspect that is nowadays often more important than individual technical measures when it comes to cyber resilience.
In view of NIS2, rising attack figures and increasingly complex operating structures, many industrial companies need professional support in setting up security processes, realistically assessing risks, and effectively controlling measures. With the advent of generative AI, the requirements for governance, risk management, and clear responsibilities are also increasing. The experts from the DSN GROUP combine legal, organizational, and technical perspectives and at the trade fair they will show how companies can sustainably strengthen their cyber security through external ISMS expertise and obtaining support from external information security resources – regardless of size, industry, or existing system landscape.
The Industrial Security Circus in Hall 26 will be the central platform for cyber security at HANNOVER MESSE. It brings together leading experts, innovative solution providers, and users to bring current threats, practical protection concepts, and the future of industrial cyber security to life. The “5G and Industrial Wireless Arena” is located conveniently nearby. It is Europe’s largest platform for wireless communication in the industry. The focus will be on key technologies such as 5G, 6G and NBIoT.
HANNOVER MESSE
HANNOVER MESSE is the world’s premier trade fair for industry. 3,000 exhibiting companies from the mechanical engineering, electrical and digital industry as well as the energy industry gather there to present solutions for a competitive and sustainable industry. The main exhibition areas are Automation & Digitalization, Energy & Industrial Infrastructure, and Research & Technology Transfer. The topic of artificial intelligence is a common thread running through all exhibition areas. A high-caliber conference program complements the exhibition. The next edition of HANNOVER MESSE will be held in Hannover from 20 to 24 April 2026, with Brazil as the partner country.
