“SUITX by Ottobock” presents its first digital product AIRGO XP – the intelligent workplace analysis with individual health coaching

The market leader in industrial exoskeletons, “SUITX by Ottobock”, has   developed a digital solution together with MotionMiners that sets new standards for ergonomics in the workplace: The AIRGO XP uses artificial intelligence to analyse movement patterns at the workplaces in real time and  detect unfavourable patterns that lead to health problems. On this basis,  AIRGO XP creates tailor-made training programmes that help employees to  work in a healthier way. The data analysis also helps managers to achieve  greater transparency. This enables them to make processes more ergonomic  and take preventative measures to protect their employees’ health in the long  term.

“With AIRGO XP, we are expanding our portfolio of exoskeletons to include the  first all-digital product, as we continue to evolve as a comprehensive provider  of ergonomic solutions,” explains David Duwe, Vice President SUITX by Ottobock Europe. The business unit will be presenting the new product for the  first time at the Hannover Messe trade show from 31 March to 4 April 2025.  Visitors can try out the AIRGO XP for themselves in Hall 6, Stand E48, and  learn more about how it can be easily integrated into existing working environments.

AI-based ergonomics tool
At the heart of the innovative solution is a combination of AI-based technology, ergonomic principles and practical approaches. The AIRGO XP  consists of three key elements:

A tracking system: The lightweight belt system in the form of a minimalist vest comes with a  holder for a tracking device. A mobile device with a display and an app is  integrated at the clavicle/chest level, recording precise movement data – such as flexors, torso twists and walking. Using state-of-the-art sensor technology and AI, the system analyses movement patterns, identifies problematic postures and immediately provides employees with visual and/or acoustic feedback for ergonomic optimisation. What makes this solution so special is that it works locally, without a permanent Internet connection.

Digital health coach: The app offers individual, data-based coaching and training programmes   tailored to the needs of employees. Targeted ergonomic measures are proposed using AI-based recommendations. For example, if the app repeatedly detects that an employee is lifting loads mainly using their back  rather than their legs, they will be shown exercises to strengthen the leg  and trunk muscles and improve their lifting technique. These are tailored  to the specific job profile and help employees to optimise their behavioural  patterns. An integrated badge program motivates individuals and teams to  work together to improve their health and achieve ergonomic goals.

Dashboard for managers: Movement analyses of employees are sent to managers in anonymised and  aggregated form. The dashboard provides a comprehensive overview so managers can easily identify ergonomic risks in their teams. For example,  they can detect stress peaks at certain times and analyse the increase and  decrease of ergonomic movements at team level. With this data, managers  can now take targeted measures to improve working conditions.

Rethinking health protection in the workplace

“With our new AIRGO XP, we are effectively tackling current economic challenges. The innovative solution creates transparency for managers by  identifying potential health risks and providing immediate recommendations  on what action to take,” says David Duwe. “The integrated digital ‘personal  trainer’ also takes health protection in the workplace to a whole new level. It  enables companies to take preventive action, sustainably promote the health  of their employees and create more attractive working conditions in the long  term.”

“SUITX by Ottobock” offers a unique combination of innovative software and  hardware products to promote healthier workplaces. This includes analysing  workplaces, consultation on ergonomics and the targeted use of exoskeletons.  The systems relieve strain on people who perform physically demanding tasks  such as lifting, carrying or overhead work.

Pilot projects with AIRGO XP

Starting in April 2025, companies will have the opportunity to start supported  pilot projects with the new product. The global market launch is planned for  October 2025. The starter package includes the required hardware, consultation on implementation and a licence fee for the software. Thanks to  the cost-effective model, daily expenses are comparable to the price of one  cup of espresso per employee. Starting in April 2025, companies will have the opportunity to start supported  pilot projects with the new product.
