TAGMA India Chapter Meetings Highlight Regional Tooling Strength Ahead of DMI 2026

TAGMA India witnessed strong participation from the tooling and precision manufacturing community during its recent Chapter Meetings in Chennai and Coimbatore. The Chennai Chapter Meeting 2026, held on 19 February 2026 at Hilton Chennai, drew a full house, bringing together manufacturers, technology providers, industry experts, and MSME representatives for presentations, knowledge exchange, and networking. The momentum continued at the Coimbatore Chapter gathering, reflecting growing regional engagement within the die and mould sector.

Delivering his address, Mr. Devaraya M. Sheregar, President, TAGMA India, said, “The strength of India’s die and mould industry lies in its ability to collaborate, adapt, and continuously upgrade its capabilities. Platforms like the Chennai Chapter Meeting enable members to share knowledge and collectively move forward as a stronger ecosystem.”

Highlighting the importance of regional manufacturing hubs, he added, “Coimbatore has always been known for its strong manufacturing culture, especially in pumps, motors, automotive components, foundry, and engineering. This strong industrial base creates great opportunities for tool makers, because every growing manufacturing sector needs strong and precise tooling support.”

Mr. D. Shanmugasundaram, Vice President, TAGMA India, spoke about the evolving industry landscape and the upcoming Die & Mould India exhibition. He noted, “As market demands become more sophisticated, our industry must embrace advanced materials, precision technologies, and government-supported innovation initiatives. With Die & Mould India just two months away, this year’s exhibition will be spread across three halls with over 400 exhibitors, making it the largest so far.”

He further added, “For the first time, we will have a Japanese Pavilion along with a Korean Pavilion. We will also be hosting the FADMA delegation, making it a truly international platform. This is your event, our event, and a powerful opportunity to showcase India’s tooling strength to the world.”

The Chennai meeting featured presentations by PCK Buderus (India) Special Steels Pvt. Ltd., Makino India Private Limited, S&T Group, Serapis Knowledge Solutions Pvt. Ltd., the Precision Engineering and Technology Centre, and the MSME Department. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. K. Thiruvengadam, Co-opted Member, TAGMA India.
