Meusburger Expands Centring Portfolio with Roller Centring

Meusburger has expanded its portfolio of centring units and locks for injection mould applications with the addition of roller centring.

Precise centring plays a key role in the reliable operation of injection moulds by ensuring accurate alignment of mould halves and mould inserts, supporting consistently high component quality. The quality of centring units and locks also influences mould service life.

The company offers a wide range of centring units and locks for various applications, available in different sizes and versions with or without DLC coating. The newly added roller centring is designed to complement the existing product range.

Quality made in Austria

Meusburger manufactures the majority of its centring units and locks entirely at its Wolfurt location in Austria. In-house manufacturing from start to finish ensures consistently high component quality and reliable precision. A key feature of the centring units is the high-precision symmetry of each individual centring half. This makes it easy to replace both complete assemblies and individual components. For mould makers, this means simpler and more flexible maintenance, as well as greater process safety. Efficient logistics also ensures that components are available quickly.

The right centring unit for every application

Different mould designs and mould sizes place specific demands on centring technology. Meusburger offers a wide range of centring units and locks for this purpose – from solutions for micro moulds right through to centring units for large mould bases. The range includes both round and square designs in a wide variety of sizes. Variants are also available with or without a DLC coating. Depending on the application, different versions can also be selected to suit the machining direction. This gives customers a flexible range of options, enabling them to select the centring solution that is perfectly suited to the specific mould design.

  • External locks: The DLC coated surfaces minimise friction and ensure low-wear operation. An integrated collision protection system prevents damage to the mould, even if there is a lateral offset between the mould halves. A removal groove also allows for quick removal during maintenance.
  • Internal locks: They ensure high-precision centring and can be used for both complete moulds and mould inserts. An integrated withdrawal thread makes removal much easier and reduces the time required for maintenance and service.
  • Centring units and locks for mould inserts

Meusburger offers small, compact and space-saving locks for the precise alignment of mould inserts. The fine centring unit, flat E 13076 is supplied ready-to-use. One mould insert is rigidly mounted, whilst the counterpart is floating. This allows the inserts to be positioned precisely in relation to one another.  The E 13070 variant offers additional flexibility, as it can be individually cut to length or drilled.

Fine centring unit with exceptional centring performance

With the fine centring unit with roller cage E 1355, Meusburger is expanding its range to include a high-performance solution for demanding applications. Roller centring ensures precisely defined centring without play thanks to optimally designed preload. The unit is characterised by its exceptional wear resistance and long service life. Particularly when dealing with delicate items, tight tolerances and a high number of shots, the new roller centring unit really shows its strengths. Furthermore, it can be positioned flexibly within the mould, giving designers greater freedom in the design of the mould.
