Versatile and designed for demanding materials: Xill·tec® Aero solid carbide cutters combine operational smoothness with impressive cost-effectiveness.

Walter has expanded its milling cutter portfolio with the introduction of the Xill·tec® Aero solid carbide cutters MC331/MC333 Advance, offering a universal tooling solution tailored to the requirements of the aerospace industry.

Following the launch of the MC230 Advance for steel applications, the company has added two new specialist cutters to its range: the MC331 Advance, without chip breaker, and the MC333 Advance, with chip breaker. Both cutters are designed with a clear focus on ISO material groups M and S, particularly for machining titanium.

The cutters are developed for aerospace-grade titanium alloys such as Ti6Al4V, as well as stainless steels including 316L. Their performance is supported by the universal grade WK40EA and a geometry featuring differential pitch, specifically designed for these materials.

According to the company, the combination of the universal grade and specialized geometry delivers exceptional operational smoothness and surface quality, even at high cutting parameters.

Walter offers the milling cutters as five- or seven-flute (z5/z7) tools in metric sizes ranging from Ø 6 to 25 mm, with or without Corner radius or Chip breaker, and with cutting lengths of 2 to 5 × Dc. According to Walter, both tools are equally well suited to dynamic milling with high material removal rates as well as for finishing operations, such as shoulder machining. In addition to the aerospace sector, Walter cites the energy sector and the medical and energy sectors as typical areas of use. Both the MC331 Advance and the MC333 Advance are suitable for reconditioning; the Tübingen-based company offers custom dimensions via the Walter Xpress™ Service. As with the MC230/MC233 Advance, users also benefit from an excellent price/performance ratio, outstanding tool life and high process stability with the Xill·tec® Aero.
