As Indian manufacturing continues its transition towards higher precision, greater efficiency, and globally competitive production standards, the need for stronger industry collaboration and knowledge exchange has become increasingly important. Addressing this requirement, the inaugural TECHNO EDGE 2026 – Precision Productivity Summit brought together manufacturing professionals, technology experts, and industry leaders for an evening focused on the future of machining and process excellence on July 15 at Lemon Tree Hotel in Chinchwad, Pune.
The summit was put together jointly by Tooling Tales, REGO-FIX India, CTC-Praezision, Oemeta India, and Cimatron. Held at Lemon Tree Hotel, it drew a solid crowd, leaders from Bajaj Auto, Tata AutoComp, Hindalco, and a mix of other OEMs, Tier suppliers, toolrooms, and component manufacturers. That turnout alone says something about how eager the industry is for platforms that go beyond the usual trade-show routine.
Mr. Nishant Kashyap opened the evening with a welcome address, laying out why TECHNO EDGE exists in the first place. His point was straightforward: as India cements itself as a go-to manufacturing hub globally, companies here can’t afford to stand still on precision and process capability. He also pointed to the momentum building across automotive and aerospace as proof that the opportunity – and the pressure is real.
“Precision Isn’t Optional Anymore”

The keynote address was delivered by Mr. Ravindra Gugale, Sr General Manager, TATA AutoComp who highlighted that precision and productivity are no longer optional advantages but essential requirements for every manufacturing organisation, regardless of the industry it operates in. He emphasised that long-term success depends on a continuous focus on quality, process improvement, and operational excellence. As customer expectations and global competition continue to evolve, companies that consistently invest in strengthening their capabilities will be better positioned to sustain growth and remain competitive. Mr. Gugale also appreciated the vision behind TECHNO EDGE, recognising it as an important industry platform that brings technology providers and manufacturing professionals together to exchange practical insights, share experiences, and promote the adoption of best practices across the manufacturing ecosystem.
Four Technical Sessions For a One Big Picture
The core of TECHNO EDGE consisted of four technical sessions, each addressing a critical element of modern machining.
The first session was delivered by Kapil Gaitonde, Sales Manager – India, Middle East & South Africa at Cimatron, who demonstrated how dedicated CAD/CAM solutions can help mould, tool and die manufacturers overcome growing production challenges. His presentation focused on integrated digital workflows, improved manufacturing efficiency and strategies for remaining competitive in an increasingly demanding market.
The focus then shifted to cutting tool technology with Rajesh Jha, National Sales Head at CTC-Praezision. Walking attendees through the company’s precision tooling portfolio and manufacturing capabilities in India, he highlighted how application-specific cutting tools, stringent quality standards and advanced manufacturing processes contribute towards achieving superior machining performance, improved tool life and consistent component quality across high-performance industries.
Abhimanyu Barthwal, Managing Director of Oemeta India, discussed how modern metalworking fluids are turning into strategic enablers of sustainable production. He explained how the proper coolant selection and management procedures may minimise carbon footprint, enhance machining efficiency, and extend tool life, demonstrating how sustainability and productivity are becoming increasingly intertwined goals.

The final technology session was presented by Mr. Harshal Dongaonkar, Senior Sales Manager at REGO-FIX Group, who discussed the importance of tool holding technology in achieving machining accuracy and process stability. A highlight of the session was the demonstration of the powRgrip® system, showcasing its exceptional runout accuracy, vibration dampening characteristics, high clamping forces and environmentally friendly design. The presentation talked about how precision tool holding directly influences machining performance, repeatability and overall productivity.
What stood out beyond the talks was the conversation happening around them. Attendees didn’t just sit and listen; they debated digital manufacturing, precision tooling, and sustainable practices well into the networking sessions that followed. Engineers, tooling specialists, and technology providers swapped notes on real problems they’re dealing with, which is really the whole point of an event like this.

The Beginning of a Larger Industry Initiative
The successful debut of TECHNO EDGE – Precision Productivity Summit marks the beginning of what organisers envision as a recurring platform for India’s manufacturing community.
As Indian manufacturing continues its transition towards higher-value, precision-driven production, initiatives like TECHNO EDGE seek to bridge the gap between technology providers and end users by creating opportunities for continuous learning, collaboration and innovation.
With its inaugural edition receiving an encouraging response, TECHNO EDGE has laid the foundation for a platform that aims to travel across India’s major tooling and manufacturing hubs, fostering stronger industry connections while promoting excellence in precision engineering and productivity.
