Mitutoyo Launches New CMM Probes

Mitutoyo Corporation has announced the launch of two new coordinate measuring machine (CMM) probes: the MPP-002 small, high-accuracy scanning probe and the MTP-002 small, high-accuracy touch trigger probe.

The company stated that it will continue contributing to the future of manufacturing through precision measurement technologies.

Product development background

To commercialise high-performance, high precision, and high durable probes that have been widely requested by existing coordinate measuring machine users.

The feature of the small, high-accuracy scanning probe MPP-002

MPP-002 is a small, high-accuracy scanning probe which enables high accuracy measurement and high-speed control through our proprietary sensing technology (patented) and structure.

Durability is improved through a structure that employs independent detection springs for XY direction and Z direction within the probe, reducing downtime caused by failures and wear, and lowering running costs. Additionally, as one probe body can support wide range of stylus lengths, it contributes to reducing in initial investment.

Features of the small, high-accuracy touch trigger probe MTP-002

MTP-002 is small, high-accuracy touch trigger probe which achieves high durability, high precision and precision with an ultra-compact outer diameter of ø13.5 mm, achieved through proprietary structure and advanced signal processing.

Additionally, sensitivity adjustment (setting change) to prevent erroneous input which may occur during mounting long stylus or in environment with significant external vibration, can be set via software rather than on hardware side (probe body, controller). Furthermore, by using stylus change system in combination, fully automatic measurement can be performed while stylus of various lengths is automatically exchanged, improving operational efficiency.
