At EMO 2025, ANCA will showcase a variety of new products and services aimed at helping cutting tool manufacturers tackle today’s major challenges—ranging from labor shortages and changing market conditions to the demand for increased resource efficiency. Backed by its strong technological foundation and the latest advancements in digitisation and artificial intelligence, ANCA’s engineers and product specialists have introduced innovative solutions across the company’s full range of machines, software, automation, and services. These solutions are designed not only to support customers through challenging periods but also to enable them to capitalize on emerging opportunities in a rapidly evolving market.

“Profitability comes from two key pillars: manufacturing the highest quality tools and optimising production costs,” said Edmund Boland, GM of ANCA CNC Machines. “At ANCA, we’ve built our reputation on delivering both — with precision solutions backed by over 50 years of innovation. To celebrate EMO’s 50th anniversary, we’ll showcase a range of new developments designed to help our customers boost efficiency, meet higher specifications, and expand their product range.”

ULTRA Technology Powers the Next Generation of Precision

At EMO 2025, ANCA will present its latest innovations driven by ULTRA Technology—an advanced integration of nanometre-level axis control, intelligent servo algorithms, and a precision-focused package that brings together mechanical design, cutting-edge software, and AI enhancements. Developed through ANCA’s distinctive vertical integration approach, ULTRA Technology delivers exceptional grinding accuracy, repeatability, and production efficiency.

As a key part of this platform, ANCA will debut two industry-leading innovations:

MicroX ULTRA – the industry’s most precise micro tool grinder, specifically designed for high-volume production of tools as small as Ø0.03mm. It incorporates nanometre-level control, in-process laser measurement, and ANCA’s proprietary Motor Temperature Control (MTC) system to maintain thermal stability. Live demonstrations will feature D0.3mm ball nose tools with rapid wheel change capabilities.

MX7 ULTRA – built for flexible, high-volume production of indexable inserts with intricate profiles and multiple cutting tips. It integrates 5-axis profile grinding with ANCA’s patented MTC and provides one-clamp solutions with automatic profile and rake face compensation, enabling quick changeovers without compromising on precision. To highlight the broader potential of insert grinding, co-exhibitor Mitsubishi will present complementary EDM dressing technology at the ANCA stand. This partnership emphasizes the benefits of streamlined process integration, seamless data flow, and full-chain digitisation—enhancing both output quality and efficiency in insert manufacturing.

Another market debut at EMO will be ANCA’s EPX-SF advanced stream finishing machine, designed to optimise tool performance and enhance tool edge integrity for a competitive advantage. Key new features include a multi-diameter tool gripper, a simplified drum-swapping mechanism, improved coating performance, and a significantly faster loading/unloading cycle—cut by 45% to just 25 seconds. The system also offers intelligent recipe fine-tuning based on output feedback. Live demonstrations at EMO will highlight closed-loop 6mm tool cycles with full comparative reports, along with displays of EPX-SF ULTRA performance tools and polished medical implants.

Built for high-volume blank grinding, the CPX Linear delivers exceptional material removal rates, boosting productivity, precision, and process consistency. Capable of achieving surface finishes below 0.2Ra, the machine includes automated in-process OD measurement and auto-loading for diameters ranging from D3–D20mm. All of this is housed within a large working envelope, supported by a high-power roughing spindle.

Now equipped with flat grinding capability, the CPX Linear offers even greater versatility, enabling manufacturers to process both cylindrical and flat features in a single setup. Together with GDS clamping technology, who are also co-exhibiting at the stand, the CPX goes as far as grinding 32mm blanks and even processing sintered blanks.

Software Solutions for a Competitive Edge

ANCA’s industry-focused software solutions drive productivity improvements, enhanced performance, reduced cycle times, and an improved user experience—maximising operational efficiency and maintaining high quality, all while reducing the cost per tool.

Launching at EMO is ANCA’s new dedicated software package for special inserts, InsertsPRO. Designed with user-friendliness in mind, it introduces advanced features such as finished part simulation, rake face compensation, chip breaker calculation, and automatic clamping orientation—enabling fast, flexible production of high-quality inserts. With ‘first-time right’ simulation and optimised grinding strategies for greater cost-effectiveness, InsertsPRO is built to meet both current and future demands in insert manufacturing.

ToolRoom RN35, ANCA’s latest grinding software release, offers feedrate optimisation and airtime reduction, cutting cycle times by up to 20%. The update also includes profile fluting enhancements and VRML import into iGrind, delivering powerful tools for increased productivity, improved tool quality, and outstanding surface finishes. ANCA’s CIM3D simulation software now features advanced tool comparison capabilities to speed up design validation, while ToolDraft allows for the easy creation of precise tool drawings based on blank specifications and grinding wheel packages—directly from the simulation, with no need for CAD knowledge. Visitors in Hannover will be the first to experience the latest updates for quicker and more intuitive creation of tool and wheel drawings.

ANCA’s automation solutions

The ANCA Integrated Manufacturing System (AIMS) empowers customers to achieve high-quality tool production while significantly reducing cost per tool, scrap rates, and labour dependency. Through intelligent automation, AIMS enhances productivity, scalability, and consistency—boosting machine utilisation by 15–20% and doubling the operator-to-machine ratio. AIMS Automate enables autonomous manufacturing, streamlining control and logistics to maximise output while allowing skilled workers to focus on higher-value tasks.

AIMS Connect serves as ANCA’s job management, digital work instruction, and operator guidance solution. It enables digital production control and seamless integration with existing machines. By eliminating operator errors and incorporating asset tracking and traceability, AIMS Connect ensures smooth, traceable tool production workflows, regardless of batch size. Live demonstrations at EMO will highlight job management and operator guidance features at the AIMS station—offering a glimpse into how familiar digital technologies can be applied to make tool manufacturing smarter and more efficient.
