The conference “Renewable Dialogue – North Sea Energy Hub” will take place for the first time on 23 April 2024 in the Convention Center at the Hannover Exhibition Center. There, politicians and experts from Germany and Partner Country Norway will discuss the energy transition with a focus on political conditions as well as technological developments and applications.

Hannover. The energy transition represents a fundamental change in energy supply. Manufacturers must transition to carbon-neutral energy sources to meet environmental regulations and maintain their competitiveness. The new HANNOVER MESSE conference “Renewable Dialogue – North Sea Energy Hub” brings together representatives from Norway and Germany to discuss challenges and solutions for a sustainable transformation as well as the opportunities it presents.

“Renewable energies reduce the carbon footprint, while green technologies open up new business fields,” says Basilios Triantafillos, Global Director Trade Fair and Product Management HANNOVER MESSE at Deutsche Messe AG. “The first edition of the Renewable Dialogue focuses on the political and business relationships between Norway and Germany in the field of renewable energies. The aim is to highlight the potential for cooperation between Norwegian and German companies and to discuss pioneering technological solutions. Their implementation, along with the creation of the necessary political framework, makes a significant contribution to global emissions reduction.”

The conference program consists of two blocks. In the morning, Norwegian and German ministers exchange views on political conditions and cooperation opportunities. After the lunch break, energy industry professionals and executives will discuss topics such as “Potentials of renewable energies in the North Sea and neighboring states”, “The contribution of hydrogen to European climate goals”, “Opportunities and risks of CCS/CCU (Carbon Management)”, and “Sustainable financing – an enabler of a new energy system”.

The “Renewable Dialogue – North Sea Energy Hub” is an initiative of the State of Lower Saxony and Germany’s Ministry for Economy and Climate Protection in cooperation with Deutsche Messe. The topics “Energy for Industry”, “Carbon-neutral Production”, and “Hydrogen & Fuel Cells” are three of the five trend topics of HANNOVER MESSE. They will be presented and discussed in April 2024 both on the conference stages and at exhibitor booths.
