These are special electric vehicles made for people who travel in cities. The factory is on a large area of 2.5 acres and can change its products to meet the different delivery needs in cities. It will also give jobs to more than 500 people, the company announced.

Namit Jain, the founder and CEO of Zen Mobility, expressed, “The launch of our cutting-edge facility is a testament to our commitment to providing environmentally friendly transportation options for last-mile deliveries. With our current orders reaching 10,000 units, we are initiating two-shift operations to fulfill the existing demand. Our factory’s increased production capacity and sophisticated testing capabilities allow us to offer efficient fleet management solutions to e-commerce and fleet operators. Additionally, the plant has been designed with the future in mind, ready to start producing Zen Maxi Pods, our soon-to-be-released versatile 4-wheeler Light Electric Vehicles, designed for transporting a variety of cargo and larger-sized items. This move further reinforces Zen Mobility’s dedication to leading the development of sustainable transport solutions for urban areas.”

The new Zen Mobility plant stands out for its ability to fully customize cargo boxes in-house, serving various needs like online shopping, food and grocery delivery, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) transport, third-party logistics, temperature-controlled shipping, dairy and pharmaceutical deliveries, among others. The company’s goal is to meet the specific demands of city deliveries by offering these personalized options. Zen Mobility has also teamed up with big names in food, grocery, and online retail to use their vehicles in over 10 cities across India. This collaboration aims to increase earnings for delivery workers and improve the management of vehicle fleets for businesses.

The company is preparing to start customer trials for the Zen Maxi Pod in the fourth quarter of the financial year 2025, with plans to officially launch it in the financial year 2026, according to the announcement.
