The official opening ceremony of HANNOVER MESSE 2026 will be inaugurated by Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, President of Brazil, alongside German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. As the Partner Country for 2026, Brazil brings a strong global presence as Latin America’s largest economy, backed by abundant natural resources and a diverse industrial base making it a key player and an attractive international partner.
Brazil will participate under the theme ‘The Industry of Today’, highlighting its ambition to integrate more deeply into global supply chains. With global trade flows undergoing a major realignment, HANNOVER MESSE 2026 offers Brazil a strategic platform to push forward the long-awaited ratification of the EU–Mercosur agreement.
“Brazil is the ideal Partner Country for HANNOVER MESSE 2026, thanks not only to its strength in key technologies such as digitalization and renewable energy, but also to its rising geopolitical significance. In a dynamically shifting global economy, close cooperation with Brazil is of immense strategic importance. This combination makes the nation an indispensable partner for Germany and Europe,” says Dr. Jochen Köckler, CEO of Deutsche Messe.
