Lantek Strengthens International Expansion with Machitech

Lantek has signed a collaboration agreement with Machitech, a Canadian manufacturer specializing in high-performance laser, plasma and oxy-fuel cutting systems, to integrate Lantek software solutions into Machitech machines.

The agreement marks another milestone in Lantek’s international expansion strategy and strengthens its cooperation with technology-focused machine builders across North America and Europe. As part of the partnership, Machitech’s Fiber PRIME S™ laser cutting machines will be supplied with Lantek Expert Cut, while its Fiber TUBE XL™ tube cutting systems will incorporate Lantek Flex3D Tubes.

Canadian technology with a strong industrial focus

Based in Quebec, Machitech is known for developing custom-built machines, particularly in high-power plasma and oxy-fuel cutting technologies. These applications address demanding industrial requirements and represent a highly specialized segment of the market. In recent years, the company has expanded its portfolio into steelwork, structural profiles and tube cutting, consolidating an offer aimed at manufacturers handling complex, high value-added production.

The Fiber PRIME S series covers power ranges from 12 to 60 kW and includes bevel cutting capabilities for thick steel processing. Its XL version is designed for very long parts and is equipped with touchscreen controls and remote management systems, tailored for demanding production environments.

Within this context, Machitech has chosen to integrate a dedicated CAD/CAM software environment to ensure maximum machine performance from day one. Lantek Expert Cut provides advanced 2D nesting functions, cutting path generation and direct handling of 3D geometries through the Assembly 2 Nest (A2N) importer, all within a single working environment.

For tube cutting applications, the Fiber TUBE XL machine integrates Lantek Flex3D Tubes, a solution developed for machining large-diameter tubes and profiles. The system supports round and square tubes, HSS profiles and small beams, with lengths of up to 40 feet.

The software enables the design, nesting and machining of parts directly on tubes, as well as the import of SAT and IGES files. Process simulation and real-time parameter adjustments help reduce risk, improve cut quality and protect critical machine components when working with round, square or complex profiles.

A clear message for the European market

“This collaboration clearly reflects the type of growth we are driving at Lantek. Working with a Canadian manufacturer like Machitech, with a solid technological foundation and a strong industrial focus, reinforces our international expansion strategy alongside partners that value engineering, reliability and technical expertise,” says Juan José Colas Lastra, Chief of Sales and Marketing Officer at Lantek.

From Machitech, Simon Croteau, Vice President of Marketing, adds: “Our customers were looking for a proven software solution that could integrate naturally with their processes and the machines they already operate. Lantek is a well-established reference in the industry and fits perfectly with our approach to manufacturing.”

With this agreement, Lantek further consolidates its international presence, supporting a collaboration strategy built around technology manufacturers with a strong identity, industrial experience and a clear commitment to advanced solutions for sheet metal, tube and structural steel processing.
