Godrej Enterprises Group Strengthens Tooling Capabilities to Support Automotive OEMs and Tier-1 Suppliers

Godrej Enterprises Group’s tooling business is strengthening its engineering and manufacturing capabilities to meet the evolving requirements of automotive OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers. With more than 85 per cent of its business coming from the automotive sector, the company delivers high-precision tooling solutions across various vehicle segments, with 95 per cent of its tooling produced locally.

The company said government initiatives such as Make in India and the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) schemes are encouraging local sourcing and reducing dependence on imports. Along with supporting productivity and operational efficiency through its tooling solutions, Godrej also serves industries including industrial machinery and defence, contributing to India’s manufacturing ecosystem.

Pankaj Abhyankar, Business Head – Tooling, Godrej Enterprises Group, said, “”India’s automotive industry is evolving rapidly, driven by localisation, changing mobility technologies and the need for greater manufacturing agility. As vehicle architectures become more advanced, tooling is playing an increasingly important role in enabling precision, productivity, quality and faster product development cycles.”

To address future industry requirements, Godrej Enterprises Group is expanding the use of advanced technologies such as digital simulations, additive manufacturing, and IoT-enabled monitoring systems. With the Indian tooling industry expected to grow on the back of automotive, electric mobility, and infrastructure investments, the company aims to strengthen local tooling capabilities and manufacturing excellence while supporting India’s vision of becoming a globally competitive manufacturing hub.
