HASCO has secured second place in the Tool and Mouldmaking category at the inaugural Fakuma Innovation Award 2026 for its DOMINO joint project, developed in collaboration with ARBURG and POLAR-FORM.

The award recognises the project’s technological innovation and its potential to contribute to the advancement of mouldmaking. The recognition also highlights the importance of collaborative development and new approaches in addressing the evolving requirements of the industry.

The DOMINO project reflects the partners’ efforts to introduce innovative technologies and solutions for mouldmaking. According to HASCO, the recognition reinforces its commitment to contributing to the future development of the industry through new ideas, technologies and collaborative initiatives.

The Fakuma Innovation Award recognises developments with the potential to sustainably advance plastics processing and mouldmaking. DOMINO was recognised for deliberately exploring new approaches to the future of mouldmaking. Rather than relying on established solutions such as cube moulds or rotary tables, DOMINO aims to enable the in-situ injection moulding of numerous 2K components within a compact family mould by using a 3D-printed hot runner system. The concept opens up entirely new design possibilities for part designers and end customers, as well as for mouldmakers.

“This award means much more to us than recognition for a single project,” explains Florian Larisch, EVP HASCO hot runner. “It confirms our ambition not merely to respond to emerging trends, but to actively shape them. Innovation happens when established ways of thinking are challenged and new possibilities are pursued consistently.”
DOMINO is a prime example of HASCO’s innovation culture. The project combines technological progress, collaborative partnership and a consistent focus on customer value. From the outset, the objective was not simply to develop a technical solution, but to create new momentum for the mouldmaking industry as a whole.
The concept study developed jointly with ARBURG and POLAR-FORM demonstrates the potential that emerges when expertise, creativity and the courage to pursue new approaches come together. The insights gained from the project provide valuable inspiration for future mould concepts and demonstrate how innovation can sustainably strengthen the competitiveness of the industry.

The award at the anniversary edition of Fakuma further underlines HASCO’s role as a driving force and pioneer in mouldmaking. With innovative products, digital solutions and forward-looking concepts, the company continuously works to make processes simpler, more cost-effective and fit for the future.
