Formlabs has introduced Form Studio 1, a resin 3D printer designed to make professional-grade printing more affordable and accessible to creators, professionals and small businesses. The company describes Form Studio 1 as the world’s most affordable professional resin 3D printer, offering a combination of print quality, speed and reliability at a lower cost than existing solutions.
Designed as an integrated printing ecosystem, Form Studio 1 aims to reduce the entry barrier for new users while meeting the performance requirements of professional applications. The system features a new print engine based on Formlabs’ Low Force Display (LFD) technology, using a custom lens array and 28 LEDs to deliver uniform light at an intensity of 6 mW/cm² for faster, more consistent resin curing.
The printer features 35-micron pixels and optimised anti-aliasing to capture fine details. Its lower peel forces and light-touch support structures are designed to produce smooth surfaces and cleaner finishes.
Form Studio 1 has also received UL GREENGUARD Gold Certification when used with Formlabs Alpha Resins and the Formlabs VOC Extractor. According to the company, this enables the system to be used in settings such as small offices, workshops and home environments without requiring dedicated containment or ventilation equipment.
With its focus on affordability, print performance and accessibility, Form Studio 1 aims to bring professional resin 3D printing to a wider range of users.
