Mazak to Showcase VC-Ez 20 Vertical Machining Center at IMTS 2026

Mazak will feature its Kentucky-designed and built VC-Ez 20 Vertical Machining Center at IMTS 2026 in booth #338300. Part of the VC-Ez Series, the machine is designed to provide stronger cutting performance, improved surface finishes, and reduced cycle times for tight-tolerance machining applications. The VC-Ez 20 comes standard with a 40-taper 12,000 rpm, 18 kW spindle and a 30-tool automatic tool changer, while optional configurations include a 15,000 rpm, 22 kW spindle and a 50-tool capacity tool changer. Mazak also supports robot automation for VC-Ez machines through factory-supplied automatic doors and robot interfaces to simplify field integration.

“To stay competitive, shops need the flexibility and capability to machine complex parts without adding complexity to their operations,” says Dan Janka, president of Mazak Corporation. “The VC-Ez 20 delivers ease of use paired with machine performance and well-known Mazak durability.”

For part size flexibility, axis travels on the VC-Ez 20 measure 41.34″ in X, 20.08″ in Y and 25″ in Z (1050 mm x 510 mm x 635 mm), which accommodates maximum workpiece sizes of 49.21″ (1250 mm) long, 19.37″ (492 mm) wide and 22.4″ (569 mm) tall, and part weights up to 2,204 lbs (999.72 kg).

An extremely fast traverse rate of 1,654 ipm (42,011.6 mm/m) in the X, Y and Z axes enables higher throughput. For significant floor space savings, the ergonomically designed machine measures only 102.65 sq ft (9.54 m2) and uses a 26.5% smaller footprint than other models.

VC-Ez Series machines are available with a choice of MAZATROL Smooth Controls, allowing shops to select the control that best fits their part programming needs. As standard, Mazak’s MAZATROL SmoothEz control makes programming the VC-Ez 20 fast and easy. The optional MAZATROL SmoothG control adds process management and advanced programming capabilities for increased speed and accuracy, while the optional MAZATROL SmoothX CNC delivers maximum performance, increasing machining speed and reducing cycle times through advanced software functions.

Like all Mazak machines, the VC-Ez 20 is backed by Mazak MPower Complete Customer Care, the industry’s most comprehensive machine support program. Plus, Mazak Capital Equipment Financing (MCEF) allows shops to easily move their manufacturing forward with one-stop, factory-direct financing on Mazak equipment.
