New AI Plug-in Boosts CAM Programming for Indian Manufacturers

  • Technology company CloudNC is making CAM Assist – the world’s first AI solution for CNC machine programming – available to Indian manufacturers through a new partnership with Vayam Global, a leading software distributor
  • Vayam Global will sell CAM Assist to its large customer base of Mastercam users, greatly accelerating the adoption of AI technology by Indian machinists and programmers
  • The partnership brings the benefits of CAM Assist – which automatically generates professional machining strategies with AI in seconds and upskills programmers – within immediate reach of any Mastercam user in India

CloudNC – a manufacturing technology company – today announces that CAM Assist, the world’s first AI solution for CNC machine programming, is now available to Mastercam users in India through a new partnership with Vayam Global.

Vayam Global – a leading manufacturing software company in India, and a nationwide distributor for Mastercam, the popular CAD CAM software – will sell CAM Assist to over 15,000 Mastercam users, both through direct sales and its network of software resellers.

The partnership brings the benefits of CAM Assist within immediate reach of every Mastercam user in India. CAM Assist not only automatically generates professional machining strategies with AI in seconds – enabling greater productivity and consistency – but enables programmers to create toolpaths for more complex parts in different CAM packages, upskilling existing workers.

Jason Bowes, COO of CloudNC, said: “India is a factory that the world relies on as a key supplier of precision-machined components for every industry and sector. There is immense potential for our software to make that factory even more efficient and productive, as CAM Assist is now available not only to accelerate how quickly Indian machinists can create components, but also to train and upskill them to expert-level with AI.”

Vineet Seth, Managing Director at Mastercam India, said: “CAM Assist has huge potential to change the Indian CAD CAM market forever by solving one of its most difficult problems – how to upskill the existing workforce. By utilising AI, more programmers will now be able to make complex 3+2 axis components in Mastercam, learning more effective strategies as they do so – enabling their employers to win more customers and land bigger contracts.”

CAM Assist uses advanced computer science techniques and AI to generate intuitive machining strategies in minutes or seconds, depending on complexity, which could take CNC machine programmers hours or even days to manually create.

As a result, the amount of time it takes to program a CNC machine to make a component – a bottleneck in many factories – is greatly reduced, compared to the previous manual programming process, as is the time spent to estimate how much a new component will cost to program.

In addition, beginner programmers can use CAM Assist to operate at a more advanced level – for example, by creating toolpaths for more complex components, or by using unfamiliar CAM software platforms. Those gains enable manufacturers using CAM Assist to raise productivity from their existing workforce, while shortening lead times and enabling greater consistency when generating toolpath strategies.

CAM Assist is available for Mastercam today in India through Vayam Global, at https://www.vayamglobal.com/products/
