The 35th edition of BI-MU, Italy’s premier exhibition for the manufacturing industry, will take place from October 13 to 16, 2026, at fieramilano Rho. Recognized as the country’s most significant event for metal cutting and metal forming machine tools, robots, automation, digital and additive manufacturing, and enabling technologies, BI-MU continues to serve as a vital meeting point for industrial innovation.

As Italy’s only trade show with strong international appeal and the first to embrace industrial connectivity, BI-MU 2026 will unveil a special edition marking its 70th anniversary, offering an updated and forward-looking showcase that reflects the evolving needs of modern manufacturing.

BI-MU has been organised uninterruptedly for 70 years, becoming the reference trade fair for the operators of the manufacturing industry, who visit its halls to view the technological product offering on show and plan their investments.

The spotlight of the exhibition will be on the last generation of digitalised and interconnected machines and technologies, which have integrated 4.0 solutions and automation systems, capable of enabling processes typical of the digital factory.

Beside stand-alone machines, metal cutting and metal forming machines, prominence will be given to complex systems based on functional modularity, which can be adapted to production changes much more easily and quickly than traditional processing units.

In addition to highlighting machine tools and production systems, BI-MU will give special attention to: robots, additive manufacturing, digital manufacturing, metrology systems, power transmission systems, surface heat treatments and tooling, identified as the seven technological themes of this edition.

The exhibition product offerings will be completed with an overview of Revamping & Retrofitting, presenting a selection of machines and systems, which have been suitably reconditioned and equipped with new functionalities in response to the needs of a market that is complementary to that of “new” equipment.

Promoted by UCIMU-SISTEMI PER PRODURRE, the Italian machine tools, robots and automation systems manufacturers’ association, and organised by EFIM-ENTE FIERE ITALIANE MACCHINE, 35.BI-MU is a sustainable event, managed and organised according to the principles of environmental, economic and social sustainability, with ICIM ISO 20121.
