Tungaloy Launches Compact Type A Holders

Tungaloy Corporation has expanded its “Turning A” line with the introduction of a short-length series of Type A holders for external turning. These holders feature a reduced overall length compared to conventional models, helping avoid interference with machine specifications, fixtures, or workpieces.

Traditionally, users often cut the rear end of external turning holders to achieve the required length, either in-house or through suppliers. This process adds labor, increases consumable costs such as grinding wheels, and generates material waste.

The “Turning A” series is a line of tools for external turning featuring a robust double-clamp structure. Its unique clamping mechanism securely holds the insert in place, delivering outstanding performance across all machining operations—from high-load roughing to precision finishing. The series also boasts a wide range of items compatible with various insert shapes, covering a diverse array of external turning applications. With the addition of a short-length type to the “Turning A” series, users can now address situations where interference occurs with workpieces or fixtures without the need for unnecessary operation of shortening tools.

Benefits and Features

Feature 1: Ready-to-install design reduces setup time
– No cutting-off required, even if interference occurs with fixtures or other components.
– Can be installed on the machine immediately out of the box, significantly reducing preparation time.
– Improved machine uptime through more efficient setup changes.

Feature 2: Addition of a short-length design type
– Available in lengths of 100 mm and 110 mm, making them 25 to 50 mm shorter than previous models.
– Designed to accommodate a wider variety of machine mounting specifications.
– Offered with 20×20 mm and 25×25 mm shank sizes to support a wide range of machine tools.

Feature 3: A series of holders for external turning that boasts high clamping strength
– A uniquely designed clamp and clamping mechanism securely clamp the insert with a single screw.
– The clamp simultaneously pulls the insert in and holds it in place, resulting in high clamping strength.
– A wide range of models to accommodate all types of external turning operations.
