Tungaloy Corporation has announced the expansion of its SpinJet series with a new-generation model featuring a cartridge-type design and app-based spindle speed monitoring. The new system is designed to reduce costs, simplify maintenance, and improve machining efficiency across various machine interfaces.

SpinJet is a speed-increasing spindle that enables high-speed rotation of small-diameter tools and high-efficiency machining when mounted on existing machine tools. Driven by a dedicated turbine powered by coolant pressure, it offers excellent energy efficiency. In addition, the cooling effect of the coolant jet contributes to longer tool life and stable machining.

The company stated that industries such as die and mold, automotive, and heavy engineering are witnessing growing demand for higher precision and improved machining efficiency. However, productivity challenges continue on general-purpose machines, especially in small-diameter machining applications, due to spindle speed limitations and aging equipment.

According to the company, conventional SpinJet units require a separately sold dedicated monitor for rotational speed measurement, increasing implementation costs and management efforts. In addition, the integrated spindle and interface structure means that spindle failures often require replacement of the entire unit, resulting in higher costs.

With the latest expansion of the SpinJet series, Tungaloy aims to address these challenges by enabling high-speed, high-precision machining while helping manufacturers maximize the use of their existing equipment.

Benefits and Features

Feature 1: Rotation Speed Monitoring via App
– A dedicated app, available for free download, enables real-time monitoring of spindle rotation speed.
– Eliminates the need for a dedicated monitor, significantly reducing installation costs.
– Easy operation via smartphone or tablet enhances on-site usability.

Feature 2: Cartridge-Type Spindle Drive Unit
– Adopts a cartridge structure that standardizes the spindle drive unit.
– Allows sharing between different interfaces, improving equipment versatility.
– In case of failure, only the cartridge needs to be replaced, reducing maintenance costs.

Feature 3: Compatibility with Various Interfaces
– Supports a wide range of interfaces including ER32, BT40, HSK-A63, C6, ST20, and CAT40.
– Can be mounted directly onto existing equipment, minimizing additional investment.
– Delivers consistent performance across diverse machine environments to maximize overall equipment efficiency.
