DMG MORI Technium is expanding its CAM software solution portfolio by adding SolidCAM, offering customers access to a more integrated manufacturing solution. The move builds on the long-standing partnership between the two companies and several joint projects in industrial machining.

The integration of modern CAM technologies continues to play an important role in ensuring productive and stable manufacturing processes. With the expanded portfolio, users will have additional options to combine advanced machine tools with powerful CAM software to improve production efficiency.

SolidCAM is a CAM software solution that is characterized by ease of use, practical programming and seamless integration into established CAD systems such as SOLIDWORKS, Autodesk Inventor and Solid Edge. The aim is to provide users with efficient and stable programming of modern machine tools directly in the production environment.

As an integrated CAM platform, SolidCAM supports a wide range of modern manufacturing technologies. This includes applications for milling and turning as well as complex machining on mill-turn machines and Swiss-type sliding headstock automatic lathes. The portfolio is further enhanced by productivity-boosting technologies such as iMachining, developed to ensure efficient toolpaths and reduced machining times.

The combination of high-performance machine tool technology and modern CAM software enables further gains in productivity, process reliability, and manufacturing efficiency.

Voices on the partnership

“Productive manufacturing processes are the result of the interaction between machine, software and application,” says Jan Möllenhoff, Managing Director of DMG MORI Technium Europe GmbH. “With SolidCAM, we are expanding our portfolio with another established CAM solution. This enables us to offer our customers additional options in CAM programming depending on the application and production requirements.”

SolidCAM also sees the collaboration as an important step:

“Our long-standing cooperation with DMG MORI has shown in numerous joint customer projects the potential that lies in the combination of powerful machine tool technology and modern CAM software,” explains Michael Leditzky, Managing Director of SolidCAM GmbH
“In the end, the decisive factor is always productivity in production. Users today expect solutions with which they can manufacture their components efficiently, stably and reproducibly. This is exactly where modern CAM technology comes in. The combination of DMG MORI machines and practical programming with SolidCAM makes it possible to further optimize manufacturing processes and exploit the full potential of modern production systems.”
