Renishaw, a global leader in precision measuring and manufacturing systems, is set to showcase its extended range of shop floor inspection solutions at EMO Hannover 2025. The company will present advanced systems designed for fast, automated, and flexible inspection processes. From 22 – 26 September 2025, visitors will be able to see Renishaw’s latest innovations for quality management, including Equator-X and AGILITY CMMs, at EMO Hannover 2025; hall 5, stand D06.

At Hall 5, Stand D06, visitors will have the opportunity to experience Renishaw’s latest innovations, including the new Equator-X™ 500 dual-method gauge and the AGILITY® shop floor multi-sensor CMM system.

In response to the manufacturing industry’s increasing demand for higher throughput, reduced manual intervention, and integrated closed-loop process control, Renishaw’s Equator-X gauging systems and AGILITY CMMs offer simplified programming, industry-leading measurement speeds, and real-time CNC machine tool updates.

The new Equator-X gauge introduces a unique dual-method capability, allowing manufacturers to choose between Absolute or Compare inspection modes to best suit their specific production challenges—essentially delivering two powerful systems in one.

In Absolute mode, the Equator-X system measures parts at scanning speeds of up to 250 mm/s, significantly improving the inspection capacity and throughput for manufacturers of small to medium batch sizes and high part variety. This mode is particularly useful for first-off verification next to the machine or even at-line 100% inspection.

In Compare mode, the Equator-X system delivers an ultra-high scanning speed of up to 500 mm/s and is ideal for inspecting large batches of the same component when cycle time is a priority. It also provides a high-speed measurement option where varying thermal environments present a challenge.

Key benefits of the system include increased throughput, with high-speed measurement that increases inspection capacity; fully traceable in-process verification of parts on the shop floor, continuous validation of the production process, and the flexibility to select the optimal measurement method for each application with a single device.

Equator-X 500: Precision Engineering Meets Software Versatility

Renishaw’s new Equator-X 500 gauge combines innovative mechanical design with a powerful software platform to deliver unmatched shop floor performance. Engineered with a dynamically stiff hexapod structure, the system features independent drive and metrology frames, carbon fibre struts, linear motor drives, and the industry-standard SP25M scanning probe—ensuring fast, high-precision measurements without compromising metrological integrity.

Designed for flexibility, the Equator-X 500 can function as a standalone inspection unit or be seamlessly integrated into automated production cells, adapting easily to variable shop floor environments.

At its core is a versatile software platform that includes Renishaw’s latest MODUS™ IM Equator applications. With a rich, intuitive operator interface, the system simplifies programming, reporting, and daily operation—enhancing both productivity and user experience.

Also on display, the range of AGILITY co-ordinate measuring machines (CMMs) has been designed and made for speed and accuracy, building on Renishaw’s unrivalled reputation for innovation in the most demanding industry sectors. It is optimised for Renishaw’s REVO 5 axis multi-sensor system and delivers unique capability to the shop floor. The tried and tested range of AGILITY CMMs also includes machines for the measurement lab, offering high throughput platforms capable of using any one of the seven dedicated REVO sensors.

Renishaw’s AGILITY S shop floor CMMs provide a highly accurate and robust solution for inspecting manufactured parts in a production environment where clean air and temperature control cannot be guaranteed. They are available with working volumes ranging from 700 mm × 900 mm × 600 mm up to 1600 mm × 2400 mm × 1200 mm (X × Y × Z), plus variants with a raised working volume to accommodate pallet loading systems or rotary tables. All shop floor models have elevated Y-axis guideways for further stability and protection from airborne contaminants.

AGILITY L machines, designed for the metrology lab, are specified for a temperature range of 18 °C to 22 °C and provide high-performance, multi-sensor 5-axis measurement in clean rooms. The single-sided raised Y-axis design with an outrigger leg expands accessibility for manual part loading when automation is not required. AGILITY L frames are available with working volumes ranging from 500 mm × 500 mm × 500 mm up to the new and largest 2000 mm × 3000 mm × 1600 mm (X × Y × Z).

The MODUS™ IM software packages for both Equator gauging products and AGILITY CMMs now include Renishaw Central; a powerful manufacturing data platform which enables CNC connectivity and closed-loop process control on the shop floor. Renishaw Central uses measurement data to identify deviations and automatically send correction updates to the appropriate manufacturing machines.
